GW2D v1.3

New version available: 1.3!

I received a good amount of feedback from a couple of friends, plus some ideas that I rejected but that led to some other idea, namely: giving you the option to customise the player image.

In this version, the standard male human character from Guild Wars 2 has been replaced with (another) standard human character, but this time he wields a different weapon for each skill bar. If you download the game and put up to 9 custom images in your game folder, the game will load those custom images, so you can play as your beloved character in Guild Wars 2 (or any other game, for that matter)!

Other changes were aimed at making the rules of this board game easier to understand, especially for people who have never played GW2. The playable tutorial has been expanded and improved, and a table has been added to explain how a turn is resolved and the priority of the skills.

For a detailed list of changes, see below.

Changelog (v1.3):

- The player character now has a different image for each skill bar (9).

- If you don't like the default images for your character, you can replace them with your own! In the game folder (download version only; not supported in HTML 5), open "GW2D_Data" and insert your custom images. They must be in .jpg format and 290x500 pixels. You can insert one image per profession/skill bar and it must be named exactly as follows: player_elementalist, player_engineer, player_guardian, player_mesmer, player_necromancer, player_ranger, player_revenant, player_thief, player_warrior. Once done, close the game (if it was running) and restart it.

- The tutorial has been reworked quite extensively: it now advances after clicking with the mouse, so you can take your time reading the texts.

- A table has been added to the top left corner of the board, showing how a turn is resolved without reading the How To Play. It should now be easier to see if a dodge is more important than a block, or if a stun can cause you to waste an evade. Or if a condition can be dispelled immediately after receiving it from the boss, in the same turn (spoiler: it can't).

- An exit button has been added to the board to allow you to abandon a game and return to the title screen.

- Signature moves have been introduced: to avoid a particularly unfortunate series of very powerful abilities in a row (such as Mind Crush's -16 HP), each boss now has 1 signature move that cannot be performed twice in a row. For Deimos, it's Mind Crush (skill #4), while for Sabetha, it's Firestorm (skill #6). When a boss chooses one of these moves, they won't be able to use it again for 1 turn (even if the player avoids them). To make it more visible, the boss' defiance bar will go to zero and the signature move will get a temporary orange X.

- Sabetha's Firestorm has been reworked: previously, you had to roll the die and if you rolled 2 ~ 6, nothing happened. But if you rolled 1, you died. To give the player a way to avoid this skill (since it was purely luck-based and therefore not fun), you can now choose whether you want to do a normal attack and receive 3 conditions, or stay longer to do more damage but risk more (and still get 3 conditions). Only if you choose to stay longer in front of the boss, you will have to roll the die: if you roll 2 ~ 6, that number will be added to your damage; if you roll 1, you die, as before (hey, but this time it's your fault!).

- Deimos' Soul Feast has been slightly buffed: it now heals the player for 2 HP instead of 3 HP.

- To make it easier to tell if skills like Necromancer's Life Siphon or Warrior's Final Thrust, which have a boosted version when the boss's HP is below 50%, the boss' percentage now appears as a tooltip when hovering over the HP bar.

- Simplified the descriptions of several skills to make them less confusing: instead of saying "Block: 1" it now just says "Block the boss' attack". Instead of "Dodge: 1" it now says "Dodge the boss' attack". Instead of "Conditions removed: 2" it is "Remove conditions", since there is currently only 1 type of conditions.

- Changed the font and made it a bit more consistent throughout the game.

- Added a tutorial link to the victory and death screens as well.

- Added the skill name, when hovering over a skill to read its description.

- Fixed an issue with the stamps (grey and red) used during the stun check (they were appearing under the canvas, so not visible, only in the build).

- Blindness has been removed. This condition used to work like Evade, so they've been merged for simplicity's sake.

- Fixed a graphical choice with the condition stacks displayed: before, if the boss inflicted 3 stacks of conditions, you would take 3 damage but the icon would show 2 stacks (and it remained 2 when the next turn started). Now it shows 3 stacks in the current turn (the damage works exactly the same, it's just the number that is updated differently).

- Added a slider to adjust the audio in the setting (and also added a setting screen).
